In this study, researchers analyzed more than 33,000 Norwegian women and comparing pregnant women who take probiotics with a no. After taking into account other factors such as body weight, education and smoking, the consumption of probiotics can reduce the risk of preeclampsia 20 percent lower.
"The results of this study provide a correlation between the intake of probiotics with a higher risk or lower risk of preeclampsia, hanrus therefore be further investigated," said Dr. Bo Jacobsson of the Institute of Public Health in Oslo, as quoted by Reuters on Friday (16/9 / 2011).
Consuming probiotics relatively safe in pregnant women, so clinical trials can test whether women who take probiotics so have a lower risk of preeclampsia. To be sure to do with probiotic capsules containing a manageable number of bacteria compared with foods.
Probiotics could theoretically affect the risk of preeclampsia by enhancing the immune system. The results of this study was dilaprokan in the American Journal of Epidemiology.
